Lubiam S/S ´14 @ Pitti Uomo 84

For some reason I’ve left Lubiam to be one the last brands to show, maybe because I think the photos I took don’t make justice to the collection which I actually liked maybe even more than the two previous ones I’ve seen from them. Unlike most of the exhibitors Lubiam had for this season changed the layout of the stand a bit (and maybe this made it too difficult for me to shoot) which also gave a nice refreshment. Also this time they had present a lot of pieces from maybe their most unknown label “Brando”, in the same space with the other collections.  The collection for next spring and summer overall comes with lots and lots of bold patterns...

Lubiam F/W ´13 @ Pitti Uomo 83

Casual elegance combined with tailored appeal. Thing that characterizes Lubiam F/W ´13 collection is that many of the fabrics used in it have been enriched with kind of a special dyeing treatment process and exclusive wash (especially the L.B.M 1911 pieces) that gives the garments an “old & lived appeal”. Colors used are much natural, tones of blue, grey and brown but there are also strong colors such as orange, green and red bordeaux presented especially in the outerwear pieces. And as many others, Lubiam also had this season a bunch of outerwear pieces made of Casentino wool. This type of wool is a Tuscan tradition where the wool fabric is treated in such a way that it gives it a unique curled...

LUBIAM S/S ´13 @ Pitti Uomo

Founded in 1911 by Luigi Bianchi, Lubiam (that actually stands for LUigi BIAnchi Mantova) is one one of the oldest clothing companies in Italy. The company that manufactured clothing for both men and women until the 1920s (when it decided to drop the women line) is still controlled and run by the fourth generation of the Bianchi family. As expected the Lubiam stand at this summer Pitti Uomo was absolutely one of my favorites. It was the last day we went to see it (quiet, not that much people around, so we got all the time we wanted to see through the collection) and I have to admit that I really enjoyed just to walk around the stand looking at the set...
