Last day in Italy - From Como to Helsinki

It feels like days passes by really quickly. It's already been almost two weeks since we came home from our vacation. Today taking a quick look of the combination I wore while coming back home from Italy. Casual wear for traveling As mentioned earlier, nowadays - when it's not for work - I try to travel as casual and comfy as possible. While we traveling in Italy - for most of transitions from one place to another I chose to wear my shorts and jacket by The GIGI (read more here) but as the weather forecast seemed that it would be rather cold in Finland I decided to go for jeans instead of shorts. In terms of shoes - most...

10/05/2015 - Mother’s day lunch

Yesterday was Mother's Day which we also celebrated by having lunch with my family at NJK, located at a little island just at the front of Helsinki. As the day was sunny and quite warm (despite the wind) decided to go for quite light shades and lightweight materials. And this time as we also had an "outside" photographer (my brother), I got my best accessory to the picture as well€¦ Can't do this often as she totally leaves me in her shadow€¦   Wearing: Sport coat: Pal Zileri Shirt: Isaia (mtm) Trousers: Berwich Tie & PS: Viola Milano Shoes: Meermin Pics by Malin Sandberg

13/2015 - Shades of gray

This time the start for week is quite formal - wearing a double-breasted dark-grey herringbone suit by Rose&Born together with a white shirt from A.W Bauer, light grey cashmere tie by Viola Milano and finally black calf leather double-monks by Alfred Sargent. The only thing not so formal is the double-breasted Gran Sasso down vest. As the sun was shining in the morning and it seemed that the would be warm I thought there was a chance to go without an overcoat. As you can see here - with shades of gray (featuring a bit of blue, white and black) one can not go wrong. This is one of the presumptions and thesis I will continue with on the write-up...

Saturday shop tip - Pauw Mannen

Going through blogs, forums and web shops is a good way to brighten up a rainy weekend like this one. Today taking a quick look of Pauw Mannen - Dutch based luxury retailer that just this week opened their new web store. The first Pauw Mannen store was opened already in 1980s at the Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam - so we are not talking about any new born player, although that time the focus was predominantly in women's fashion. Later Pauw has widened their range to cover some of the most prestigious brands from the world of menswear and if you ever happen to visit in Amsterdam, I highly recommend you pay a visit at some of their stores there....

2014 - Late night Monday details

Started the week in the office with something between formal and casual, wearing my new made-to-measure suit from Sauma. Very satisfied with the result - a two-piece suit made of middle grey (semi) lightweight wool fabric with light blue and brown overcheck. Jacket of the suit is a single-breasted, features 2 patch pockets, 3-roll-2 buttoning and a little roped shoulders. More detailed review (and video) regarding the suit coming up. Wanted to keep the ensemble quite light colored, so picked a white merino wool turtle neck and pocket square (The unicorn square by Drake’s is still my favorite one) & shoes in shades of brown. Based on pictures it seems that my shoes could also use some welt edge dressing for...
